The routes have been completed, with four stages each on the Jack and Jill and an equal number on the Zig Zag/Indian Trail respectively.
The new Jack and Jill Stage (so named due to the dips and climbs) rehabilitation works will be completed for this weekend. To get to this stage you turn off at the Couva Flyover and head west along the Rivulet Road that goes to the Point Lisas Port. About five minutes from the highway, turn left at Milton Road and Jack and Jill start is one minute down the road. Look for the TTRC Stages signs from the highway as a guide. If you go pass the start and turn left at the junction there will be two more access points for spectators. Jack and Jill runs from the village and finishes along the highway next to the Couva Flyover, an easy drive back to the Service Park.
There are several access points to the Jack and Jill off the Indian Trail Road as the stage runs parallel to the roadway.
The ZigZag/Indian trail run is approximately six kilometres of beautiful and relatively smooth compact gravel, starting at the Zig Zag end east of the Couva Flyover. The Service Park will be east of the Couva Flyover (one mile) at the Super Special location which has proven to be a beautiful vantage point for spectators. Turn left if you are the northbound highway on the Couva Flyover and head east for about five minutes, passing the Preysal High School and you will see the Service Park tents on the right.
It is expected that John Powell’s EX Carlos Sainz Toyota Corolla WRC Rallycar to be cleared from the port in time for the weekend.
But the battle cry has sounded. Can Ainsley Lochan in the Ultra/Stag/Josefs Evo 6 regain the points lead by finishing ahead of the Castrol/Rallymac/Sweet Tambran Evo 6 of Barry Mckenzie?
The “Duck Man” Sham will be on hand to provide food and beverages.
