I, like thousands of law-abiding, frustrated, terrorised citizens, had decided for the first time in my voting life, that I could not in all conscience give my vote to a megalomaniacal, incompetent PNM or power hungry, self serving UNC and would therefore not be exercising my given right to vote at the next election.

Now, however, I will be the first at my polling station, eager to cast my vote for the “honourable” Mr Dookeran should he assume leadership of the UNC or of the party he aligns himself with.
