Sending the wrong message

We must, however, lay the blame where it belongs. Anyone, perhaps with the exception of a campaigning politician, knows that by rewarding failure you are sending the wrong message to the citizens, especially the youth.

What Manning and his cohorts have done is to lower expectations even further in Trinidad and Tobago and cannot blame those who now believe that they should be bestowed honours and large sums of money when they have achieved nothing.

I believe the mood in Brazil was not sombre and there was no dancing and waving in the streets when their soccer team returned. That’s because their expectations were higher.

Their goal was to win the World Cup and the glory of being the best.

I still say Manning should be ashamed of himself for duping an emotional populace.
