TTFF prepare ‘Football 2010’ plan

The document will be released upon discussion with the Government regarding the qualification drive for South Africa and the ongoing development of the game locally.

Warner, currently in Berlin, Germany for Sunday’s World Cup final, said he was contacted by Minister of Sport and Youth Affairs Roger Boynes.

This was in reference to talks about the Soca Warriors preparation for the next World Cup Finals.

Currently the TTFF officials including Oliver Camps, president, and Richard Groden, general secretary are overseeing the document and on their return home on July 10, a meeting will then be set.

Meantime, Warner said coach Leo Beenhakker was his special guest at the semi-final match between Portugal and France on Wednesday in Munich.

And details will be given about their discussions on Tuesday. Beenhakker also spoke to Boynes on the same day and the minister will also be informed of the final outcome.

“Beenhakker was my special guest in Munich on Wednesday for the match and he enjoyed every minute of it. He was virtually mobbed by young and old alike and signed autographs continuously,” Warner said.

“The meeting was very cordial. I am also pleased to say how much an impression we have left here after our departure from Germany. We have some interesting offers for matches which are currently being looked at and I can assure you that there are promising things in store,” Warner said.

Meantime, goalie Shaka Hislop and his wife Desha will be guests of Warner at Sunday’s Final.

And St Kitts/Nevis Prime Minister Denzil Douglas will also be a guest of FIFA on Warner’s request.

Among the other dignitaries who will be in Warner’s company will be South Africa President Thabo Mbeki, UN General Secretary Kofi Annan and former United States President Bill Clinton.
