Man shot on way to mosque

The incident occurred around 4.45 am as Shasie Mohammad, was leaving his Phase One home on his way to a mosque. He was approached by three men who attempted to rob him. Mohammad resisted and was shot twice in his face and arm. The men ran into Mohammad’s house and stole cash and other valuables.

Relatives living nearby heard the commotion and rushed the injured man to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex where he is listed in stable condition.

The Cunupia CID is continuing the investigation.
