Speedy Ready Set Jet sidelined for 3 months

Connections, the Jetsetters Stables had a big scare after the filly romped to a two and a half length victory over the older horses in the O’Meara Sprint Handicap over 1100 metres just over one week ago, when the injury surfaced.

But now the good news is that trainer Glenn Mendez will have her back under saddle in approximately three months, making it possible for the filly to take her place in the rich Stewards’ Cup which is run on the second week in December.

Ready Set Jet has not been beaten in four career starts and has racked up earnings of $102,750 for her connections.

Meanwhile, connections of this year’s surprise Royal Oak Derby winner, the Jamaica-bred Border Dispute, have paid a $1,500 penalty for him to take his chance in the President’s Cup over 1900 metres on August 1.

Also paying the $1,500 penalty were the connections of Privilege to also race in the President’s staying event, and will renew rivalry with Crown Point.

Crown Point was narrowly beaten by Border Dispute in the Derby classic, and also went down controversially to Privilege in the Stud Farm Association National Stakes over 1800 metres a month ago.
