Protect our women
However, in our beautiful country, women are still treated as though they belong on a rung lower than men.
A typical example, which is the cause for my concern, is how women are treated in the workplace and in particular in the public sector. On a daily basis, women, especially younger women who are trying to lay a foundation for a successful career, have to put up with a number of insensitive, offensive and un-welcomed sexual advances. Many times this abuse simply takes a verbal form and therefore is ignored and regarded as normal work behaviour. For the victims though, it can have a lasting effect. Instilling fear and feelings of uneasiness that can seriously affect work performance and future aspirations. The victims often believe if they take up the issue with a higher authority the blame would be placed upon them and in order to make it anywhere they have to accept things as they are and continue to be abused. This is totally wrong! All women are someone’s mother, sister, wife or daughter.
They should be treated with respect and as equals. To anyone affected, do not be afraid to voice your concern, stand up for your rights. I would like to make a plea to the higher authorities, the government or anyone who can alleviate this problem to act and act now.
Conduct private investigations in the various government offices; protect our women, who are the most beautiful on this planet.
