Northern put title on the line

Dave Wong, president of the TTRFU, praised Sportflex for their continued support of the sport.

“Their association last season was a boost to the sport,” he said. “The cash incentives offered provided an additional incentive to the teams in the Championship Division.”

But Wong is urging the players to pay particular attention to their individual fitness levels.

“The game at the regional and international levels has (gotten) faster and the players are fitter and stronger,” he said. “We have got to accept that reality and the younger players must take ownership and take responsibility for going to the gym and putting in the hard yards.”
