Thank you Minister Imbert
The minister pointed out that for the last 20 years these people have been without water as he walked through the district, what he did not seem to remember is that for the last 15 years he has been the Member of Parliament.
During his tenure, not only have the residents of La Seiva suffered for lack of an adequate water supply but so have the residents of Paramin, Le Platte and other areas of his troubled constituency.
What we have seen over the last 15 years is a deterioration of all infrastructure (which is patched up from time to time), an increase in the levels of violent crime in River Estate, Petit Valley, Le Platte, Paramin, Maraval Village and Dibe/Belle Vue, a deterioration in sporting and other community activities, the collapse of some primary schools (Paramin RC and La Seiva RC — the latter of which is only now being rebuilt after approximately seven years) and a lack of commitment to the development of the constituency as a whole.
It would appear that elections are indeed around the corner and so the residents of Diego Martin East can look forward to some hastily organised road works and a great deal of mamaguy.
