Carnival Cocktails

Pulse8 Carnival headed by Meg Cheekes and a committee is just the continuation of Poison.

This was revealed by Cheekes at the launch of Pulse8 on Tuesday evening at Federation Park. Eight section leaders of the former mas band coming together to continue the Poison tradition.

And guess what? Pulse8 2007 presentation “Cocktails” is a gift from Michael Headley the man behind the highly successful Poison.

Cheekes said, “Pulse8 was formed to deliver an improved ‘Poison Carnival Experience’ within a more manageable size, maintaining the heartbeat of Poison which was loved by all.”

Pulse8 promised to deliver a structured band in which masqueraders will enjoy their Carnival in what can be described as a resort on the move complete with leisure vehicles, a happy hour, live artistes and pulsating DJ music.

Security for the 14-section band is uppermost in the committee’s mind and they have plans in place to deliver a safe and secured Carnival atmosphere for their 3,000 masqueraders. Some of the sections revealed at the launch included Rum Sweet Rum, Anti Freeze, Blue Lagoon and the theme “Cocktails.”

Cheekes praised Michael Headley for all the knowledge and experience she gained from him over the years and said she is moving on with her committee knowing they have the ability to deliver the best.

She then toasted the “Carnival Legend” and her mentor presenting him with a gift.
