Dillon returns to strengthen TT

Dillon is currently playing for Sunderland in the English Minor League.

The TT cricketers will play the opening match of the inaugural series on Tuesday against the Cayman Islands under lights at the Stanford Cricket Ground, starting at 7 pm.

Joining the local team late last week was West Indies wicketkeeper Denesh Ramdin took part in two friendly matches in New York recently with several other West Indies players.

Hard-hitting West Indies batsman Ricardo Powell has also been selected on the TT 13-man squad after recovering from injury, and returning from a self-imposed break from the game. The Jamaica-born Powell is expected to add some well-needed explosive power to the batting line-up.

When on top of his game, the 27-year-old Powell has the ability to score very quickly and demolish bowling attacks.

The local team will be led by West Indies opening batsman Daren Ganga and will include two former West Indies youth players— William Perkins and Kieron Pollard.

The two players represented the West Indies team in the ICC Youth World Cup in Sri Lanka earlier this year.
