TT skies blimpless

SKYSHIP Management, the company which government paid $15 million for a third blimp, is yet to deliver the skyship to the Special Anti-Crime Unit of Trinidad and Tobago (SAUTT).

SAUTT sources told Newsday the third blimp was expected this month, but up until yesterday, it had not arrived. The first blimp, the Aeros 40 B remains at a warehouse in Cumuto, while the second blimp is parked behind SAUTT’s base in Cumuto. No blimp patrols have been carried out for the past three months sources confirmed.

Sources told Newsday that in all, government has already spent $52 million on three blimps and yet the skies of Trinidad and Tobago remain without blimp patrols.
