Extradition hearing

The two men, who were at the Port-of-Spain Magistrates’ Court yesterday for the two Piarco Airport corruption inquiries, went to the office of the Clerk of the Peace to sign their bail bonds during the break between both hearings.

Galbaransingh and Ferguson surrendered to Sgt Wendell Williams at the Interpol offices at the Police Administration building on Thursday afternoon, after they learnt that there were warrants out for their arrests.

They were each granted bail in the sum of $1 million to be approved by the Clerk of the Peace. They were also ordered to surrender their passports and report to the Four Roads Police Station every Monday and Friday between 6am and 6pm.

They were among several persons indicted following an investigation into reports of alleged fraud and money laundering linked to the Piarco Airport Terminal development project.
