Archbishop Gilbert does not understand
Archbishop Gilbert, what about the Bahai, Baptist, Buddhist, Hare Krishna, Non-Theist, Atheist, Agnostic. What if I worshipped the devil?
Would I get to choose a separate award?
Are we not all part of the whole that makes our beautiful country? Should we not have a separate award as well?
The Archbishop is a learned man. I’m sure he knows how many religions and belief systems decorate the world.
A lot more than the few I have listed before. Shall I remind the religious leader that our constitution guarantees equal protection and rights to each and every one of its citizens.
If we are to believe our Prime Minister’s statement that Trinidad and Tobago is a secular democracy then the only way to go in the Trinity Cross issue is to have one national award for all our citizens. Anything else will lead to utter chaos.
