Kenisha takes on the Universe tonight
Kenisha, who is regarded as one of the top contenders for this year’s title, has been getting high ratings in online polls in the countdown to the competition. On VoyForums. Com, she is in the top 15, while pageant watchers on Missology.com have described her as “fun to watch and an all-around accomplished delegate”.
In a telephone interview from the Wilshire Grand Hotel in LA, Kenisha told Sunday Newsday she is enjoying her pageant experience and is ready for tonight’s main event. “The girls that I have made a bond with are Ambuyah Ebanks (Miss Cayman Islands) and Fabriella Quesada Sequeira (Miss Costa Rica).” These girls are amazing and competitive. I feel so blessed being here.
“Everything is happening so fast, every experience and every moment I try to capture. This is a lifelong tale to tell your children and grandchildren.”
Kenisha says she is getting a lot of support in LA from her chaperone Allison Brown, pageant franchise holder Peter Elias, and members of her family — parents Gregory and Sinita Thom, brother Keilon, as well as her boyfriend Cory Selvon.
Former Miss Universe Wendy Fitzwilliam is also part of the TT team that will be cheering on Kenisha.
“Words cannot describe how it feels to know that my joy is shared with them,” she said.
Elias said he is looking forward to a good showing from TT’s delegate tonight.
“Kenisha has a very good chance in this competition. She has been performing really well and she has what it takes to win,” he said.
“There are a lot of good women this year like Valerie Dominguez Tarud (Miss Colombia) and Lauriane Gillieron (Miss Switzerland). They share the same strengths with Kenisha.”
Elias said Kenisha has been working very hard preparing for the pageant.
“She has given her all for this competition. Kenisha is the greatest person to work with.
I am here to lift her spirits and support her all the way.”
