‘The Art of Pan’

The recording of steelbands playing nostalgic and contemporary music is captured “live’ in 5.1 Audio on both CD and DVD formats which are yet another tribute to the versatility of the steelpan.

Among the album’s numbers are WITCO Desperadoes ‘So Sick,’ bp Renegades “ All Night Long,” Neal & Massy Trinidad All Stars “Black Orpheus,” Solo Pan Knights “Night Shift,” Sagicor Exodus “Sexual Healing”, Angostura Woodbrook Playboyz “Walk On By”, Harlem Syncopators “Hey Jude” and La Horquettta Pan Groove “Can You Love Me.”

The two-discs CD compilation is produced for Pan Trinbago by Kenny Phillips and WACK 90.1fm and is available at most of the leading music shops. The Art of Pan DVD video showcases 12 conventional large bands with exceptional sound and visual quality. Produced by the Aurora Award 2004 winner — Advance Dynamics — this DVD captures the magical sound of the steelpan. A limited number of the Down Memory Lane discs can be had upon request.

Both the CD and DVD are great souvenirs for all steelband connoisseurs and aim to present steelband music in a form that’s accessible to everyone.
