PENSIONER’S HOME UP IN SMOKE
According to police reports, at about 4:55 pm officers of the San Raphael Police Station were on patrol along the Talparo Main Road, when they saw a house engulfed in flames. The officers rushed to the scene and found Doon Paiplal, the owner of the house. He reported to the officers that at about 4:30 pm, he heard a crackling sound at the back of the house. Paiplal checked and saw that the back structure was engulfed in flames. Officers at the Arima Fire Station responded to the call.
The officers estimated the value of the wood and concrete building with furniture at $800,000.
The Fire Prevention Police Unit is conducting inquiries.
