Rangers proud of progress

Rangers are sixth place on 20 points and after 15 matches in the

league competition, the St Ann’s based team has won six matches, lost two and drawn seven.

And while they have been plagued by inconsistency, they can be very proud of what they have achieved so far. “Coming from the super league, with very little time to get ourselves ready for the Pro League we had to adjust and we are currently still in that transformation phase as most of our players are still maturing,” he said. The Rangers coach is however very pleased with performance of his young side who have defeated North East Stars on the two occasions they have met. According to Street they have shown they can give the big boys a run for their money. “We have been working very hard in training trying to get the guys focused on the job at hand, and I am satisfied with our showing so far.

Yes there have been disappointing results, but the boys are improving and we are striving for consistency,” said Streete.

“This year our objective was to prove we can compete with the best teams in the country and hold our own, and I believe we have done that. But next year, make no mistake we will be coming to make a serious claim for silverware,” the former national player warned.
