He urged the Chamber’s members “to appreciate that our democracy will be hollow and will not flourish if we do not have the socio-economic changes to improve the quality of life enjoyed by our people especially the poor.”

“It is therefore critical to our country’s development and the health of its democracy that the private sector must flourish, and that the growth of this sector is therefore, essential to the fabric of our society,” he said.

Representatives from several of the 51 new organisations that have been added to the chamber’s registry within the last year were introduced to the media and each other.
