Tobago businessman on ‘wild meat’ charge

The team of 14 officers, including a game warden, honourary wardens and an environmental police officer, confiscated a quantity of turtle, tatoo, iguana and eggs from a freezer at the popular restaurant. The man was arrested and charged for possession of the meat outside of the hunting season and was released after posting his own bail in the sum of $2,000.

The confiscated meat will be discarded of by burning or burying. Game wardens in Tobago have again warned persons with wild meat in their possession to dispose of it immediately or face a severe penalty.
