Stanford is on the ball

I firmly believe that our Caricom leaders need to take not only a page from Mr Stanford and his 20/20 cricket vision but to purchase the whole book.

This book should be devoured by this present government that coincidentally claims to have a 20/20 vision.

Somehow Mr Stanford has gotten this 20/20 vision right. He has found a way to use his economic wealth to create a sport and cultural explosion like never before seen in the Caribbean.

For the first time 19 of the region’s Islands have come together under the sport we loved most and have created history. Mr Stanford does not only “talk love for cricket” but his “money is where his mouth is.” Now I am by no means naive, I know its all business, nevertheless I can not close my eyes to the basic principles that have been applied and the great output of results that are before us.

Mr Stanford clearly understands the importance and value of investing in sport and culture.

He also understands the importance of highlighting greatness and the individuals behind it. He addresses them as the Legends, these legends of the game of cricket that are world renowned and stood as giants before men. Honestly I thought most of these greats were dead but some how Mr Stanford and his 20/20 cricket vision have brought them from the grave, a grave of scorn and scant courtesies by the West Indies Cricket Board.

My son is clueless of these great legends, after all they are not part of his school curriculum, and thus I had to explain to him their worth and valuable contribution to the game of cricket and to the Caribbean pride.

The legends are alive and well and for that I must thank Mr Stanford and his 20/20 cricket. Stanford’s vision has clearly become a reality of pride and passion for the people. So I have come to only one conclusion which is, whenever Mr Stanford runs for Prime Minister he has my vote somehow his 20/20 vision works and is worth voting for.
