Ninja takes calypso East

“We have great calypsonians performing like Singing Sandra, Valentino, Brigo, Abbey Blackman, Johnny King and King Austin just to name a few,” Ninja said, adding that the shows were aimed at “bringing calypso to the East.”

“We are also introducing karaoke sessions which will be held on Wednesday nights and a comedy show on Thursday nights,” he said.

Ninja, 41, has been singing calypso professionally for 12 years.

“I was a part of Kaiso Caravan for three years and Calypso Spektakula for two years,” he said. One of Ninja’s biggest hit was the soca parang “We parang d wrong house.”

The Calypso Showcase will be hosted by Sweet Jean and Ninja.
