Two men killed crossing road
According to reports, about 9 pm, Renaldo Hargrave was crossing the street, in front of Squeeze’s Bar, when he was struck by a passing vehicle.
The car did not stop. Hargrave’s body was viewed by the district medical officer and ordered removed to the Port-of-Spain General Hospital mortuary.
In a separate incident, a 55-year-old homeless man was struck down by a passing vehicle on the Beetham Highway on Friday night.
According to police reports, at about 7.55 pm, Ricky Mohammed was struck by a motorist when he tried to run back to the shoulder of the highway.
An eyewitness said that he had spoken to Mohammed before he crossed to the median.
Mohammed then attempted to return to the shoulder when he was struck by several passing vehicles. In another incident, a fisherman was reported missing after he fell overboard a trawler at Carli Bay, Couva, on Friday night. According to police reports, at about 7 pm, the man had an argument with another fisherman, and both men fell into the water, but only one of the men resurfaced.
