Peacemaker stabbed to death

According to police reports, at about 8 pm, Mcleod was at his home when he heard a commotion in the yard. On checking, he saw the female relative in a heated argument with her boyfriend. Mcleod attempted to bring peace between the two but was instead stabbed in the left shoulder.

Officers of the Arima CID visited the scene along with the District Medical Officer who ordered the body removed to the Forensic Science Centre.

McLeod’s relatives told Newsday he was seperated from his wife six years ago and a 29-year-old man reportedly began threatening McLeod several months ago which led him to make several reports to the Pinto Road Police Post.

Police sources said that a 29-year-old man is assisting Homicide Bureau detectives in their investigations into McLeod’s murder.
