This TV station is ridiculous

What responsibility does the media have in situations like this? What responsibility do the promoters of an event, be it Stanford Cricket, WICB or TTFF, have to ensure that their events, sold to TV stations are shown live-especially in the countries playing in the event.

In fairness to the promoters, they probably would collapse in disbelief if they knew that the match was being shown “delayed” in one of the participating countries.

I am confident that the match is being shown live in other West Indian islands, even though they are not playing. But not in Trinidad and Tobago. Here, where our “independent” media remains locked into 19th century Victorian bureaucracy, we have a tradition to air the news at 7.00 pm, so if the heavens are falling, or we are in the finals of the FIFA World Cup, we will show the news, and the regulation 15 minutes of boring government propaganda, and delay the heavens or the World Cup.

In the USA, the place to whom we look for all our bad habits, if they are showing a sporting event, and it goes into extra time, the station announces that the news, or any following programme, will be delayed. These are big big (sic)stations, CCN, with thousands of affiliates, and they can adjust to accommodate regular sports events.

You, with your commitment to the news, are stuck in a previous century, and we are denied the right to support our country live when we are in the final. God help us, yes, when our media are as backward as this.

I am really damned vexed and will close this before I write something offensive. What do you think ?
