The 40-year old corporal was attending a senior non-commissioned officer’s course hosted by the Jamaica Defence Force at the Newcastle Training Depot when he died. Initial reports indicate that Corporal Sylvester complained of chest pains while participating in the fitness test.

A post mortem is scheduled for today.

A release from the Trinidad and Tobago Regiment revealed that it is arranging for the return of the body to Trinidad after the post mortem is completed.
