Dr Ramjit still with EWMSC

Dr Ramjit who in an interview on Tuesday said he was “returning” to the EWMSC, yesterday said he has been working at the Complex since last year and returned on Tuesday. (Dr Ramjit was on vacation).

On Monday, Dr Ramjit issued a statement to the media announcing his resignation as MPATT president and disclosed that his “reappointment” to the post of Specialist Medical Officer Pathology at the San Fernando General Hospital (SFGH) was “fraught with complications and offered with conditionalities.”

Questioned about his “reappointment” Dr Ramjit said he worked at the SFGH from 2004-2005 and from 2005-2006 has been working at Mt Hope.

Ramjit said he had not resigned from the EWMSC although he sent in a resignation letter on May 10. He told Newsday: “It did not take effect.”

Dr Ramjit said he withdrew the letter on Monday — the day he issued his statement. A SWRHA official said Ramjit was an employee of the SWRHA, but had resigned. They said the contract offer can be “technically considered a new position as it is a new contract.”
