PNM not attracting quality technocrats

Sure, CEPEP is a fairly okay “Make Work Scheme,” but a country at its richest ever, is their shining beacon? The PNM is now noted for speaking of grandiose things. They campaigned about their Vision 2020 but it was much later that they put a team together to document what exactly is this great idea.

One can well remember their bridge from Toco to Tobago. And so many other things. They are completing five years and how far have they progressed this nation?

I’ll tell you. Every institution in this country is being politicised, including the Judiciary and Police Service. The hierarchy of State companies are manipulated to fit in their supporters regardless of ability. The traffic continues to bottleneck. The roads are increasingly dilapidated. Food stuff continues to rise, and clearly cassava is not the alternative to rice. Domestic violence, robberies, rapes, illiteracy, lawlessness, hooliganism, thuggery, murders and illegal guns continue to thrive and increase under this PNM. And a Minister boasted that this is PNM country. What will happen by 2020?

It seems the PNM has not been able to attract quality technocrats and has resorted to their numerous rejects and failures of a past era who were really well versed in election campaigning but who failed miserably at administration.

The PNM, NAR and the UNC have one thing in common, they were all accused of corruption, but only the PNM had and continues to have the tag of being a square peg in a round hole.
