Now TTEC workers protest

First Vice-President of the OWTU Roland Bernard said Government agreed to pay workers a six percent increase in 2005 which workers deem unsatisfactory, now that the commission has received a hike in electricity rates which took effect on June 1.

Bernard said the union is prepared to “pound the pavement in demand of better wages,” which workers deserve for their hard work and dedication to the commission over the years. Bernard indicated that workers under the direction of the OWTU will join the march organised by the Federation of Independent Trade Unions and Non Governmental Org-anisations (FITUN) and the National Union of Gover-nment and Federated Workers (NUGFW) next Friday.
