Villagers get ambulances

After numerous complaints by villagers of Toco and Matelot for ambulances, Dr Fe Reyes, District Medical Officer, who made a number of requests for additional ambulances to service the North East coast, said villagers can feel secure in the event of emergencies in Toco and Matelot with the addition of the two ambulances.

There was a real need for additional ambulances in the area as patients had to be rushed to Sangre Grande, one resident pointed out.

Mothers will no longer have to deliver their babies in cars or vans on their way to Sangre Grande, as proper facilities and medical personnel on board will ensure patients’ safety.

Dr Reyes complimented the Eastern Regional Health Authority’s CEO, Ronald Tsoi-a Fatt, for his quick response in having the ambulances sent to Toco and Matelot.
