Godspell tackles older horses on Sagicor Day

Godspell has been allotted 48 kilos, Greek Princess 45.5 and Mr Shankar 44.5 in the 1750 metres race which has attracted 11 runners.

Both Super Grey and Freshman were assigned topweight of 56.5 kilos in the respective handicap races on Arima Race Club Day 25, Thursday next week.

Hndicappers Robin Jaisingh, Wayne Shockness, John Maingot met yesterday and issued the weights for the two handicap events. The Jamaican-bred Super Grey will be giving away from 3.5 kilos to Prince charming to 12 kilos to bottomweight Mr Shankar in this Restricted Handicap, while Freshman was saddled with the same poundage in the Conditional Handicap D sprint over 1100 metres on the turf course.

Should the race be shifted back to the main track, Deadsure, Ragstorichestorags, Sara’s Song, Joint Account and Saint Valentine will benefit in this 17-horse field.

The topweight will be handing out 12 kilos to Kohonis at the foot of the weights whether the races is on the main or turf course.
