Police aim to catch Crabs

Leaders Police will square off against Crab Connection in a top-of-the-table contest as the league resumes from a two-week-long break.

The lawmen hold a two-point lead over the “Crabs” and today’s match will go a long way to determining the eventual winner of the 2006 season.

Third-placed WASA FC can maintain their pressure on both Police and Crab Connection if they get the better of the sliding Club TSTT at the WASA Ground, St Joseph.

After a promising start, TSTT has slipped to seventh spot on the ten-team standings and will be looking to get their act together against the in-form WASA squad.

Mid-table squads PLIPDECO Caroni and M&M Harvard face off at Gilbert Park, Couva while cellar-placed Robby’s Engineering Couva Players United will be aiming to get some valuable points when they host Defence Force FC at the Couva Junior Secondary School, Couva.

All matches today will kick off at 4 pm. And, on Sunday, fourth-placed Angostura 1976 FC at the Larry Gomes Stadium, Arima, from 2 pm.
