John Legend and Rihanna will be at b2- bmobile’s “The Unbeatable Concert” tomorrow at Pier 2, Chaguaramas.

Robyn Rihanna Fenty was born February 20, 1988, in the parish of St Michael, Barbados and first shot to stardom in 2005.

Music of the Sun, Rihanna’s debut album, which she co-wrote, was released in August 2005, led by the single “Pon de Replay”, which peaked at number two on both the US Billboard Hot 100 and the UK Singles Chart.

The second single, “If It’s Lovin’ That You Want”, was less successful than its predecessor but reached the top 20 in several countries. The album itself peaked within the top ten in Canada, and the US, and within the top 40 in the UK. It has received platinum certifications in several countries and a Gold certification in the US. To further promote the album, Rihanna toured with Gwen Stefani. The album itself sold just under 500,000 copies in the US and two million worldwide.

John Legend (born John Stephens on December 28, 1978 in Springfield, Ohio) is a Grammy-winning, American R&B singer, songwriter, and pianist. His debut album, the platinum selling Get Lifted, was released in late 2004. It features collaborations with rapper and producer Kanye West — star of last year’s inaugural bmobile Unbeatable Concert — as well as rapper Snoop Dogg and the singles “Used To Love U” (US top 100, UK top 30) and “Ordinary People” (US and UK top 30).

He also collaborated with Slum Village on the song “Selfish” (US top 100), also featuring Kanye West. Legend also played the piano on Lauryn Hill’s “Everything is Everything” and sang background vocals on Jay-Z’s “Encore”, Alicia Keys’ “You Don’t Know My Name”, and Fort Minor’s “High Road.”

In 2006 Rihanna participated in several endorsement deals, including Nike and JC Penney. She released her second album, A Girl Like Me, in April 2006 less than eight months after the release of her debut album. The album debuted at number five in the US and number six in the UK. The lead single, “SOS”, was used in her endorsement deal with Nike. The song became Rihanna’s first number one on the Hot 100 chart; it also debuted at number one on the Hot Digital Songs chart where it became the second biggest first week digital single ever.

“SOS” peaked at number one in Australia and number two in the UK. The second single, a slow ballad which addresses the feelings of guilt a girl faces as she cheats on her boyfriend titled “Unfaithful”, became her third top ten hit in the US and the UK (becoming her third number two single in the latter, held off by “Hips Don’t Lie” by Shakira). The third single has been confirmed and will be “We Ride”. A Girl Like Me is Rihanna’s biggest selling album to date and was certified platinum.

On July 31, 2006 Rihanna received two MTV Video Music Award Nominations for the categories Best New Artist and Viewer’s Choice for her video SOS (Rescue Me).

Rihanna made her acting debut in a cameo role in Bring It On: All or Nothing, which was released on August 8, 2006.

Meanwhile Legend has been kept pretty busy himself with performances during the pregame show of Super Bowl XL in Detroit and during the halftime show at the 2006 NBA All-Star Game, and singing “God Bless America” during the seventh inning stretch at the 2006 Major League Baseball All Star Game in Pittsburgh, PA.

He is also featured in the Black Eyed Peas song “Like That”. The song “Ordinary People” was originally meant to be for a Black Eyed Peas project, but Legend decided to keep it for himself and recorded the song after he had been signed to Columbia Records.

The first single from his sophomore album Once Again is “Save Room”. The album is due in stores October 24 and boasts production from Kanye West, Raphael Saadiq, and will.i.am.
