Harding lands Miracle Man in treble

The Trinidadian-born rider who won the Jamaica title last season, the first “foreigner” in several years to do so, landed a treble on yesterday’s 11-race programme including the day’s Grade 1 feature Eileen Cliggott Trophy astride the unbeaten Miracle Man, beating runner-up Medical Report and Formally Gold.

Miracle Man won the 1300 metres race with a purse of J$860,000 by 2 1/4 lengths for his sixth victory in a row, clocking one minute 18.1 for the trip.

Harding was also astride Mucho Gusto and Ad Infinitum to complete the three-timer. The three successes lifted Harding to a healthy eight-win lead in the race for this year’s jockeys title.

Harding now has 64 wins to his credit, while rival Wesley “Callaloo” Henry who had a blank yesterday is on 56.

Ex-champions Trevor Simpson 52 and Charles Hussey 49 also had a winless day
