Tineke takes on the world

In 1986, 20 years ago, Giselle La Ronde was the first and only representative to have won the Miss World crown for this country.

Sponsored by the Tourism Development Cooperation (TDC), Tineke will present an autographed cricket bat by world record holder Brian Lara as TT’s national gift. This

will be auctioned at a gala event in Warsaw where monies raised will be contributed to various charities there.

The Miss World Organisation with Julia Morley at the helm, an assiduous worker for charity, has raised more than ?100 million over the years for various charities. Alyson Brown, an associate director of the Miss Trinidad and Tobago Pageant Company is this country’s official chaperone and will depart for Poland on September 19.
