Maple, Carenage chase North title

The Mapleites and Alcoa Carenage United have gone through their fixtures unbeaten to date.

On Sunday, Maple drubbed Fire Service 6-2 with Glen Walker continuing his prolific goal-scoring smashing in a hat-trick, Mike Harewood grabbed a double with the other goal coming via an own-goal. Keston Agard and Duane Miller scored for the firemen.

And Alcoa Carenage United whipped St Francois Nationals 4-1 in their game also on Sunday.

The teams top the standings with the Carenage men winning all five matches played, and Maple all four.

Also on Sunday, Medianet Orie won for the fourth time in five games, shutting out Pasragon 4-0 woith Jeffrey Jeffers scoring twice, Sean Richards and Barry Carrasquero getting one each.

Defending champions Defence Force won for only the first time on Sunday, whipping Copious Suns 3-1 with Kwesi Davis, Andre Logan and Colin Fonrose scoring one goal each. Daric Foster gor the consolation.

On Saturday, Harvard eked out a 3-2 victory over Telecom FC for their first win this season with Elroy Adams scoring a double and Shaundel Bernard the other.

And Superstar Rangers and Malvern drew 1-1 with Kevin Joseph scoring for the the Rangers men and Omari Samuel for the Malvernites.

Meanwhi.e, in FA Trophy action on Wednesday last, Maple trounced Cocorite United 8-0 with Walker scoring six, and Daryl Paul and Hyron Browne-Baptiste the other goals.

Harvard ousted Telecom FC 4-2 with Elroy Adams getting two goals, Shane Ramdoo and Shawndel Bernard one each. Jeffrey Lendore and Keder David scored for Telecom.

Alcoa Carenage United scraped past Fire Service 1-0 on Adrian Marshall’s goal, while Queen’s Park edged past Malvern 2-1 with Mark Pierre and Atiba Roberts scoring. Tracis Mohammed got the consolation.
