Inter-Bank footballers in exciting encounters

Both matches carded for the “Mount” went to penalties after 2-2 scorelines after regulation time.

In the first, RBTT played an enterprising first half but it was the clinical finishing of the Central Bank which made the difference at the half.

Two well-taken goals by nippy Kevin Armour seemed to have taken the match out of RBTT’s reach. The first item resulted from an excellent display of passing by Central Bank’s midfielders Andy Abraham, Keston Wright and Brent McNeil.

In the second half, Central Bank took full control but were guilty of squandering their chances to extend their advantage. RBTT would make them pay with two powerful strikes from the right — both by Ian Caruth and all of a sudden the scored were knotted was 2-2. With both teams going for an outright victory, it was Central Bank winning in the sudden-death shoot-out. In the second match at the venue, Citigroup and Scotiabank played to a 2-2 tie at the end of regular time. But Scotiabank won in the sudden-death penalty shoot-out.

Marc Anatol continued his scoring ways with the first item and former national player Alvin “Flash” Thomas scored the second for Citigroup.

Jabari St Rose and Linton Gaston scored for Scotiabank who held out against a late surge of attacks by Citigroup led by veteran defender Junior Brereton.

At Republic Bank Grounds in Barataria, Tatil defeated UTC 4-3 lead by a hat-trick by Samuel Greene. Kevin Charriandy scored the other for Tatil.

UTC goalscorers were Lindsay Rondon, Schubert Andrews and Carlwyn Alexander.

In the other match Republic defeated FCB 2-0 with goals from Jason Regis and Terrance Worrell.
