Lingo, Gomez beaten in finals

Gomez offered little resistance in his clash against Darian King of Barbados, with the Bajan cruising to a 6-1, 6-2 triumph while Fausthyara Pietersz of the Netherlands Antilles inflicted a 6-2, 6-2 whipping on Lingo.

The boys’ and girls’ doubles finals also took place yesterday, with Gomez earning a slight measure of redemption as he combined with fellow Trinidadian Javier Lewis to defeat the Antilles’ duo of Claudio Dias and Justin Tjon in a pulsating boys’ affair 6-3, 4-6, 7-5.

Pietersz teamed up with Keneel Teasdale to spank the Hew sisters Sarah and Natalie of Suriname 6-2, 6-3.
