Bovell (N) pulls in heaviest Mahi Mahi in UTC fishing

Anglers fishing from that boat which was sponsored by JA Optical reeled in 201.5 points to win $3,040.

Leading the way was Nicholas Bovell, top local swimmer, who snared the heaviest catch, a 29.3lb (Mahi Mahi) Dolphin to earn $1,500 and the Unit Trust Challenge Trophy.

Adding to the success of Pair-A-Dice were Tony Telfer who reeled in the largest Wahoo, a 67.9-pounder to collect $1,500. Woman angler Marilyn Sheppard who got the Best Angler prize for accumulating 71.8 points. She received a $1,000 prize and trophy.

Telfer was also adjudged to have caught the largest fish with his Wahoo and received the Allan Aleong Memorial Challenge Trophy.

Jimmy Aboud, fishing out of Outcast, was named Best Junior Angler with 170 points and received the S Flook Memorial Trophy and $1,000.

Scott Hosang from the boat Fancy Man II collected the Best Male Angler prize and the Rencirk Nickie Memorial Challenge Trophy and $1,000 for accumulating 282.27 points.

Apart from getting the Best Boat Pool prize money, Pair-A-Dice for accumulating 713.53 points was the Best Boat overall and earned $10,000.

The boat Fancy Man II runner-up in the Boat Pool category with 141.7 points and $2,280, was also second overall and received $5,000 and a trophy.

Third overall was the crew of Step Ah Side with 295.60 points to collect $2,500.

Charge Up was fourth with 250 points and got $1,500. Rounding off the top six places were Magic Lady and Mamzellell who were both being awarded $500 gift vouchers. Fire One was fourth in the Boat Pool.

Getting dinners for two were seventh placed Outcast, eighth Fire One, ninth Hysteria and tenth Bee Jay II.
