Dr Browne gives much hope to Bridge of Hope children’s home

He said he is aware and knows the challenges non-Govermental organisations face from Government and the private sector in mobilising resources. Browne made this statement in his address at Bridge of Hope Tenth Year Appreciation and Award Function at James Smart Village, Sangre Chiquito on Sunday. He however, announced that “ I am here today to tell you that Bridge of Hope will get its response from the Ministry of Social Development.” The Minister was given a thunderous applause from the packed auditorium. Browne testified to the fact that the performance and testimonies revealed by the children at the home touched his heart.

He told the children with their artistic gift she wants to encourage them to develop in the various fields. “Truly you have the ability to bring joy and inspire all,” he said. “Your stories touch all and bring something new to the Ministry of Social Development. which he had the privilege to be present and hear for himself,” my heart was really touched,” the Minister declared. Browne said caring for children who has been neglected, abandoned or abused requires good intentions as homes must offer them hope and a family they can trust, as demonstrated by the Bridge of Hope.

He reminded all parents that they have a responsibility to nuture their children in an environment of love and compassion, trust and integrity. Sunday’s celebration, the Minister noted, truly indicate that the Bridge of Hope has a dedicated staff who have the best interest of children at heart. “Too often these days , we are confronted by the negatives and violence involving our children and young people.” he added.

He said he strongly believes that our young people are without the guidance that builds strong citizens’ character. “It is a positive atmosphere that promotes self esteem, self worth and clearly defines the right and responsibility among children and care givers. This type of atmosphere encourages open and honest communication which can flourish in children’s abilities, and promote their potentials.” he said.
