Carnival Messiah is ready for all

CARNIVAL MESSIAH showed he is ready for all rivals on Saturday’s Arima Race Club Day 30 programme at Santa Rosa Park, Arima.

The 2001 Triple Crown winner zipped through a 1000 metres gallop on Monday morning in the startling time of 58.9 seconds. On the strength of this gallop on a track made fast by overnight showers, the Messiah which is owned by Wilma Primus and conditioned by dual Triple Crown trainer Glenn Mendez, should not go unnoticed in his chosen event. Another to show sparkle on Monday morning was the maiden Fortaleza who stepped 400 metres in 22.4 seconds. But the star yesterday morning was Miss Lover Lover who skipped over 1000 metres in 1:03.6 seconds. This Edmund de Freitas-trained three-year-old filly missed his Royal Oak Derby Day engagement, and comes to race on Saturday fresh. Cotonou showed some life in a 600 metres run yesterday, completing the trip in 36.2 seconds. Two-year-old Salsa Moves from the Maniram “Boboy” Maharaj stable, galloped over the same trip in a good 37.5 seconds, while Bonus Point stepped over the same distance in a quick 35.9 seconds, and Indian Trouble was timed in 378.4 over the same distance of ground. Another to earn some attention was Upset All who was clocked in 24.9 seconds for a 400 metres run.
