Ricardo Powell gets call up
ST JOHN’S, Antigua: Ricardo Powell has been called up to the beleaguered West Indies team for the Triangular One Day International series in Sri Lanka involving India. A West Indies Cricket Board release said yesterday that the 26-year-old was expected to leave the region today for the tournament that begins July 30 with a day/night game against India. Powell, an attacking right-hander with an amazing strike rate of 97.45 in ODIs, has played 105 matches, scoring 2070 runs and last played for the West Indies during the VB Triangular Series in Australia in February. West Indies open the ODI series with back-to-back matches against India.
