Cops seize $1.5M in ‘ganja’

SIX persons, including two Venezuelans, were arrested in Charlieville last Friday by Organised Crime and Narcotics Unit (OCNU) officers, who searched a vehicle and seized compressed marijuana with a local street value of $1.5 million. Reports revealed that around 5 am, the officers acting on a tip-off, went to Charlieville where they carried out surveillance on a vehicle and its occupants. Officers later boarded the vehicle which contained the suspects, carried out a search and seized the drugs. The six are to appear today before a Chaguanas magistrate.
