Private Members’ Day in Senate

DEBATE will continue on a motion by Independent Senator Ramesh Deosaran for live parliamentary debates when the Senate sits tomorrow at 1.30 pm, designated as Private Members’ Day. Also listed for debate on Tuesday’s Senate Order Paper are Opposition motions on equal opportunity legislation and discrimination. According to the Westminster system of government, no government business is conducted on Private Members’ Day. Senate Opposition Leader Wade Mark has questions for Works and Transport Minister Franklyn Khan and Labour Minister Lawrence Achong about PURE and NEDCO respectively.
