Murder /kidnapping all part of ‘PNM nightmare’

Following the kidnapping and subsequent murder of the son of UNC MP for Naparima Nizam Baksh,  opposition Mp for Siparia Kamla Persad Bissessar is calling for the citizens of Trinidad and Tobago to rise up and bring an end to “this, PNM nightmare.” Speaking to Newsday last evening regarding the murder of 30-year-old Ashmead Baksh, Bissessar said, “I am a mother, I must ask how many more must die . The PNM Government’s Vision 2020 is an absolute nightmare. For how much longer must we watch the blood of our sons and daughters spilled.”

Bissessar pointed out that she knew the victim and his family personally and that they are genuine praying people who did not deserve this. Bissessar continued, “my heart bleeds as a mother and I call upon every single mother, father, son and daughter to rise up and stand up and say with a common voice enough is enough! The PNM has to go! Let us put an end to this nightmare.” Bissessar also pointed out that the tendency of the public and certain officials to look toward the family in finding the reason behind incidents such as this murder only serves to exacerbate the situation. “I really feel it and if we let it pass and make it look like the family is to blame tomorrow it could easily be you as the problem is not dealt with.”
