Woman killed on highway

An unidentified woman was yesterday killed while crossing the Churchill Roosevelt Highway. According to reports, the woman was attempting to cross the highway in the vicinity of the walkover at the El Socorro Junction at around 6 pm last evening when she was hit by an oncoming vehicle. The woman lost one of her legs on impact. Up to late last night, police officers attached to the Barataria Police Station were on the scene awaiting the arrival of the District Medical Officer.
