Police hold suspect in Mohammed’s killing

POLICE have detained a suspect in connection with the execution of 46-year-old Mala Mohammed. The 28-year-old man was held by police on Sunday and was up to late yesterday assisting investigators in their enquiries. Mohammed, the wife of prominent Princes Town supermarket proprietor Khalid Mohammed, was shot in the back of her head and shoulder at her Princes Town home on Tuesday night. Police had ruled out robbery as a motive since the gunman and his accomplice did not take anything from her, including her purse which contained over TT $ 3,000 and US $3,000. Insp Fitzgerald George of the South Bureau Homicide and Sgt Errol Ramdath of the  Princes Town Police Station are investigating.
