2 Venezuelans killed in St Clair
Two Venezuelan students were murdered at a boutique in St Clair late yesterday. Lorena Neyed Matiguan, 24, a part time attendant at the 33rd Avenue clothes boutique, was strangled and Johan Perez, 21, a part time cleaner was stabbed several times. The bodies were discovered in the boutique at the corner of Pole Carew Street and St Clair Avenue when the owner of the boutique, Sharon Mc Carthy, who had left Matiguan in charge of the business for the day, returned to the store.
Police were last night baffled over the motive for the killings since nothing appeared to be stolen. The bodies were found in the bathroom with their hands tied behind their backs. Both Matiguan and Perez lived nearby and were in Trinidad reportedly studying law. Police officers were on scene up to late last night. Also on the scene were officials of the Venezuelan Embassy.
