Fuad’s Angels seek foreign help
Dr Fuad Khan’s Guardian Angels group is reforming itself to tackle the criminal elements in Trinidad and Tobago and is seeking assistance from the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and other foreign organisations. In a statement yesterday, Angels’ director of strategic planning and operations, Anderson Morris, said a document has been dispatched to the the CIA, US State Department and the British Foreign and Commonwealth Office outlining the criminal activity in TT today and calling for “direct foreign intervention from the international community in TT through expert advice, equipment and training to prevent this country from going down the road of anarchy and desperation, much like the current crisis that has befallen the Haitian people.
We are calling on the Government of the Republic of TT for assistance, but if none is forthcoming, we will press ahead, confident that what we do is right and just,” Morris declared. He said the Angels will form units in all UNC constituencies and then seek to establish bases of operation in PNM constituencies “with or without the cooperation of the (PNM) Members of Parliament.” Morris added that the Angels would welcome assistance from anyone. The group has created a hotline number at 674-2056 and an email address at watchdog@journalist.com. Khan, the MP for Barataria/San Juan, has claimed that if the Angels were properly functioning, it could help reduce crime in TT.
