Two to stand trial for murder

TWO men accused of murder were yesterday committed to stand trial after Chief Magistrate Sherman Mc Nicolls found that a prima facie case was made out against them. Steve Gorian and Jude Lucas, 36, of Schuller Street in Carenege, are both accused of murdering handyman Omar Muhammad of La Horquette Branche Road in Glencoe. Muhammad was shot on December 6 at Sanora Park, Pt Cumama, Carenage, and later died at the Port-of-Spain General Hospital. The matter, which was heard in the Port-of-Spain Eighth Magistrates’ Court, saw eight witnesses being called by the prosecution to give evidence. The prosecution was led by Attorney Shoba Jamunar, while Patrick Godson-Phillips represented one of the accused.
